Job Description :

Bill's Distributing, Ltd., an industry leader in beer, soda, and Wine & Spirits distribution, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager is the sole focal point for Human Resources at Bill's and will collaborate with the Business Manager on HR functions. The work schedule is Monday through Friday with some flexibility on office hours.


Essential Functions

Compliance

  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
  • Leads in the development and implementation of the Company Handbook and provides direction to management in the fair and equitable execution of said policies throughout the organization. In addition, responds to employee inquiries relating to the Employee Handbook
  • Ensures accurate records of personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting are maintained
  • Maintains personnel files for all current employees, ensuring that files are accurate and meet all legal requirements of state and federal laws including DOT compliance
  • Represents company at unemployment and/or EEO hearings
  • Prepares for employee separations and completes related documentation; conducts exit interviews to determine reasons for employee separations. In addition, follows up with department heads regarding concerns or action items as a result of the exit interview
  • Administers company's drug testing program and maintains records for pre-employment/random drug testing programs
  • Monitors and reports to all DOT/WAMS driver activity, as needed
  • Works with appropriate department managers to ensure compliance with OSHA

Employee Relations and Development

  • Schedules and conducts new employee orientations
  • Works with department managers to ensure that employee reviews are done in a timely and consistent manner
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues
  • Provides guidance to management in areas such as interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, sexual harassment and employee development
  • Manages Employee uniform process by receiving orders, placing orders with suppliers and facilitating the accounting process
  • Administrator for BDL HR System's HR, Recruiting, onboarding, & performance management modules


Staffing and Recruitment

  • Works with department managers to recruit, interview, and select employees to fill all vacant positions
  • Manages all recruitment advertisements / postings across numerous public websites
  • Maintains accurate and current employee data base of all personnel related information
  • Maintains accurate and current company Organization Chart, including job descriptions and competitive pay grades for all BDL positions

Benefits Administration

  • Administers benefits programs, which include: health, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, HSA's and flex spending plans, retirement plans, vacation, sick leave, leaves of absence (FMLA)
  • Oversees COBRA administration process, through third-party administrator
  • Works with insurance brokers and carriers to ensure a competitive benefit package for employee recruitment and retention
  • Maintains accurate and current company Organization Chart, including job descriptions and competitive pay grades for all BDL positions
  • Administrator for BDL HR System's benefits module

Training and Safety

  • Investigates accidents and prepares 1st Reports of Injury and submits to Worker's Compensation insurance company
  • Proactively manages Worker's compensation cases with the Insurance company and injured employee
  • Manages return to work programs and coordinates any injured employee job restrictions
  • Ensures that training records for all BDL personnel are current and accurate per AB equity standards. Works with department managers in developing training programs, by position
  • Leads company safety function and ensures that all departments are adhering to safety policies and procedures
  • Maintains all OSHA related reporting requirements including forms 300 and 300A reporting
  • Assists Facilities Manager with documentation and maintenance of BDL Food Safety Program

Special Events

  • Coordinates Great Room events bookings and room set up
  • Coordinates and plans company related parties and events

Performs other duties, as assigned


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or the equivalent in human resources experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with employees at every level of the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to manage confidential information effectively
  • Good business acumen with respect to financial management and business-related decision making
  • Proficient computer software skills, including HRIS systems and MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook


Physical Requirements

  • Use hands to operate, finger, handle or feel office equipment; and reach with hands and arms
  • Sit for long periods; stand or walk occasionally; bend or reach occasionally
  • Talk and hear both in person and by telephone
