Clearance: SECRET

Schedule: Monday – Friday: 0900 – 1700 EST; As needed after-hours/shift support

Travel: As needed

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for ensuring the continued day-to-day operation of the MCSC Integration & Test NOCs.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for performing continuous system checks of all software and hardware to ensure full system functionality of Windows, Solaris, and Linux based servers within the Mission Command Support Center Integration & Test and Production NOCs.
  • Maintain and update documentation, to include cut-sheets, parameter sheets, etc. as needed.
  • Maintain configuration management of all NOC Configurations, both test and operational.
  • Provide the I&T Lead with a daily summary of actions required and completed tasks.
  • Identify potential issues and proactively provide solutions to I&T Engineer.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all virtual and physical deployments that directly support the I&T NOCs to include the following:Deployment and configuration of JBC-P and JCR NOC Servers across multiple Integration & Test and Production NOCs

Deployment of Mission Command Servers across multiple Integration & Test NOCs.
Deployment and configuration of Nexus servers across multiple Integration & Test and Production NOCs.
Provides engineer level technical support to customers when calls are received.
Collaborate with fellow team members to troubleshoot and recommend corrective actions for end users systems based on feedback from end users.
Responsible for the maintenance of the NEH Array, to include KGV trays, cabling, traffic key and firmware loading.
Responsible for providing On-the-Job-Training to personnel within the MCSC on existing and new software and capabilities; Schedule will rotate to provide support the OJT.

Daily and As Required Tasks:

  • Conduct continuous system checks to ensure 100% operational posture.
  • When calls are received from the field, ensure that the proper documentation is performed for the call.
  • Review any open tickets and process as necessary.
  • Log any activities into the Test Log on the FSC.
  • Dial-in to any necessary teleconferences as requested by the I&T Lead or I&T Engineer.
  • Provide verbal and written updates to the I&T Engineer and I&T Lead as necessary.

Weekly Tasks:

Review NOC configurations in conjunction with the I&T NOC Parameter sheets to ensure that all NOC configurations are documented accordingly. If changes are made to any NOC Configurations, ensure that the I&T Parameter sheets are updated and the remainder of the I&T team is briefed of the changes.

Monthly Tasks:

  • COMSEC dutiesEnsure that all I&T encryption hardware is updated with new COMSEC material when obtained from the COMSEC office.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 1-2 Years’ experience in system administration
  • Basic knowledge of VMWare systems and infrastructure
  • Possess a basic understanding of Linux and Windows based systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to function independently and as part of a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
