Overview
Canon U.S.A., Inc. in Melville, NY is currently seeking a Logistics Associate Specialist (Assoc Specialist, Logistics) who will report to the Senior Manager of Logistics Planning & Administration. This department provides strategic support to the operational subdivisions of the Logistics Subgroup through reporting, analysis and administrative support.
This position is full time and offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office Monday and Wednesday and an option to work from home the remainder of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate to internal business colleagues as well as external partners ensuring that Corporate Logistics is meeting or exceeding our customer expectations and requirements
- Document and distribute information on Corporate Logistics activities to an audience including senior and executive leadership
- Analyze data and propose improvements to promote productivity and efficiency within all facets of the headquarters and regional Logistics operations
- Maintain budgeting responsibility for individual projects and contributes to increased awareness of and adherence to costs and efficiencies within the Logistics Subgroup through data analysis and KPI reporting
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training/testing for assigned processes, procedure and application of systems. Identify and provide guidance and support for staff training in technology areas necessary to support Logistics operations
- Perform administrative tasks related to Logistics vendor management
Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, plus 0 to 2 years of related experience.Requires a Bachelor's degree in Logistics Planning, Operations Management or Business Administration
- The incumbent should also have one to three years experience in a Distribution or Inventory Control capacity and should possess knowledge of Logistics modeling techniques such as EOQ/EOP
- Exposure to warehouse management would be beneficial
- The individual should also possess strong organizational, written, analytical, administrative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer platform skills are required
