Job Title: Member Engagement and Social Media Coordinator

Status: Full Time, Exempt
Reports to: CEO

ABOUT VAR
The Vermont Association of Realtors® (VAR) is a trade association serving approximately 2,000 REALTORS® statewide. VAR provides a variety of services to our members, including legislative advocacy, exclusive use of Vermont real estate forms, networking events, continuing education, and community service. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. We do hold events outside of these office hours a few times a year, during which time the working hours of this position are adjusted accordingly.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is an in-office role; telework will be considered after a provisional period of 90 days and upon approval by the CEO.

The position calls for a skilled professional who provides a wide range of administrative services supporting local Realtor® Associations. The individual requires minimum guidance. This individual must be knowledgeable of all association activities, as well as NAR policies, procedures, and operations. The Member Engagement and Social Media Coordinator is a vital member of the team and is responsible for assuring superior customer service to all local associations and their members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

ADMINISTRATION

  • Ensures that local associations receive monthly financial statements, membership reports, and member lists.
  • Works with Member Services Coordinator to ensure timely annual dues billing and follow-up with delinquent members
  • Assists local association leaders to establish annual calendars including national, state, and local events
  • Ensures that major events such as the Annual Meeting, installation of officers and directors, and annual awards programs occur on a timely basis

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Works with the Director of Communications to produce monthly e-news and other communications for local Realtor® Associations, as directed through local association services agreements
  • Assists in the management of Realtor® association social media pages, posting regular updates, interacting with member content, and increasing engagement across all channels, as directed through local association services agreements

EDUCATION

  • Coordinates with the Director of Member Engagement and Professional Development to offer continuing education (CE) classes for local realtor associations
  • Assists in the preparation of all aspects of classes registration, collecting monies, registering attendees classroom logistics for local associations
  • Maintains attendance verification for education classes and programs for local associations

CORE STANDARDS

  • Works with local association leadership to ensure that Core Standards requirements are being met on a timely basis
  • Assists local association leadership in completing and submitting the annual Core Standards Certification form by NAR mandated date
  • Works with local association leadership to review budgets, bylaws, policies and procedures, and strategic plan on an annual basis

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Greets walk-in customers, identifies needs, and if applicable, directs to appropriate personnel
  • Acts as backup to answer the phone, assists members with questions, aids in problem-solving, and addresses concerns promptly and effectively
  • Attends occasional association events that may require in-state travel
  • Participates in all staff meetings and development opportunities
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by the CEO
  • Assists with general membership functions as needed
  • Ensures the CEO is informed of any issues with local associations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional listening skills and patience
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office Products, Adobe Suite, and computer membership systems; general computer literacy required.
  • An accredited degree in communications, marketing, business administration or a related field is preferred; relevant experience in lieu of a degree is considered.
  • Familiarity with the real estate industry, nonprofit organizations, or membership associations is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and successfully problem-solve to naturally project a positive, energetic, and professional image

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
  • Ability to view/enter data for long periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
