Wanderlust Creamery is an artisanal ice cream brand based in the Los Angeles area. Our brand is centered around globally inspired ice cream flavors. We are in search of a Multi Unit General Manager, to manage 2-3 of our upcoming Orange County stores with the opportunity for continued growth within our company.

Summary of Key Responsibilities and essential role functions

  • Professional development of the team ensuring managers are accountable for every aspect of their financial and operational performance.
  • Able to identify both short and long-term solutions to business needs through process and training, to better enable store teams to deliver excellent customer experiences.
  • Ensures the execution of training plans to enable employees to meet the performance targets and business objectives. Facilitating training, group discussions, and developmental activities as required.
  • Ensures all processes and practices are reviewed as applicable to Federal and State laws, alongside being executed successfully.
  • Models excellent values and behaviors as leader, a coach and performance driven manager.

Key accountabilities

People

  • Providing Direction: Engage your team by providing clarity of business plan goals through quarterly planning, effective prioritization, and regular communication. Ensure that your team understand their own personal contribution to the Business plan goals from day one and through training and coaching are adept at executing their own role.
  • Developing Performance Excellence: Effectively manage the performance of team ensuring that any gaps in performance are highlighted in one to ones and performance improvement plans developed. Identify and nurture high potential employees.
  • Engagement: Motivate and reward your team through clear communication of KPI achievement plus individual and team recognition.

Sales Driving

  • Customer Environment: Contribute to the creation of an environment that enhances customer experiences; setting clear operational expectations, leading by example, and providing regular feedback.
  • Analysis: General Managers to have a deep and comprehensive understanding of their business. Category and product performance should be used to drive activity and recommend new initiatives or changes.

Financial Reports

  • Forecasting: Know your business and anticipate sales opportunities and forecasting challenges; facilitate great communication to optimize performance.
  • Labour costs: Ongoing reviews of productivity, understand challenges and create plans of action to achieve targets, championing stable store teams and high levels of customer experience.

Operational Excellence

  • Alignment: Ensure that all members of your team are aware of the brand standards and consistently deliver and lead by example. Be visible, provide clear and consistent messages across all areas of your business, on an individual and team basis as required.
  • Compliance: Create and maintain a safe environment for our employees and customers through excellent and compliant operational practices.
  • Product: Ensure only the highest quality product is available, displayed abundantly and beautifully, be present in the Boutique, training the teams shoulder to shoulder on what good looks like.
