Summary:
As the Network Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and administering the company's computer networks. Primary duties will include maintenance of computer networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary. You will also be working closely with our network's users to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.
What You'll Do:
- Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems and applications software, network hardware, and configurations
- Installing and configuring network equipment
- Implementing and performing disaster recovery procedures and data security systems such as firewalls, virus protection software and data backups
- Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems
- Replacing faulty network hardware components when required
- Monitor networks and troubleshoot issues or outages, and improve network performance for all systems
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
- Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software
- Maintaining current knowledge, understanding of security, and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
- Adhere to SLAs and create when necessary
What You Will Bring:
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
- Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
- Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches, controllers
- Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols
- Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
- Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources
- Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology
- A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously from design to implementation
- Dependable and flexible when necessary
- Network security experience
- LAN and WAN experience
- Work well under pressure and tight deadlines
