Join us for the summer!

National Beef is looking for college students ready to explore a Industrial Engineering and Operations Ground Beef Formulation/Blending to join our family for the summer of 2023 as Operations Intern/Industrial Engineering Intern.

Our internship program could jump start your career in Operations Management and Industrial Engineering. You will have the opportunity to work on rewarding process improvement projects to solve real business needs and learn to formulate ground beef mixtures. You will be introduced to our company culture and work practices and learn about department functions and how Industrial Engineering integrates with our entire Operations Team. The summer will end with a presentation to the Senior Operations Management team and key Department heads to demonstrate what you have learned.

This is an in-person, hands-on experience in at our Moultrie, Georgia facility.

This is a paid internship. Housing allowance is included where required

Program length: 10-12 weeks

You will be working for an industry leader in beef processing!

This experience will provide you with a broad introduction to the National Beef Packing Operations process and Industrial Engineering process improvement projects including a six-week rotation through different Operations/Industrial Engineering areas and opportunities within a designated plant location. You will work collaboratively with the Operations Team and have networking opportunities with senior leadership in the facility.

As a Operations Summer Intern, you will be responsible for completing weekly reports to the Corporate VP of Operations and the facility Plant Manager summarizing what you have learned the previous week and what process improvement opportunities you’ve discovered.
Qualifications:
Qualified Candidates for the Beef Production Summer Internship position should possess the following:
  • Enrolled and have completed at least two years in an accredited college degree program focusing in one of the following fields of study:
    • Animal Science
    • Ag Business
    • Microbiology/Chemistry
    • Other Related Fields may be considered
  • Should be classified as a junior for the 2022-23 academic year; Sophomores could be considered
  • 3.0 GPA in Core Curriculum classes
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and on-campus involvement
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and be self-directed on project work
  • Proficient user of all Microsoft products
  • Intern must be available to work 40 plus hours per week (some weekend work) on-site for the duration of the internship
