Tarter Farm and Ranch Equipment has an immediate opening for an Operations Manufacturing Manager for our Tarter Industries location in Liberty, KY.

Days: Monday-Thursday (2nd shift)

Hours: 4:45 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.

Reports to: Plant Manager

SUMMARY: Manages and leads all operational functions of the second shift shift manufacturing plan while ensuring adherence to all company guidelines. Plans and allocates resources as required to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction in delivery and quality. Ensures compliance of department to all environmental and safety requirements of the facility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Including the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

1. Manages all departmental operation functions through supervisors or other supporting staff.

2. Serves as a champion for safety improvements within the department and facility wide.

3. Provides leadership to all departmental employees, promoting the mission and values of the company.

4. Plans and adjusts labor and other resources as necessary to maintain flexibility in response to customer needs.

5. Assures that schedules for work for all process lines are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements, economic performance and long range planning.

6. Lead role in departmental continuous improvement efforts working with other departments in the facility (engineering, quality, materials, safety, etc.)

7. Coaches, teaches, and mentors employees and teams.

8. Ensures all employees maintain quality levels required by our customers and Quality System standards.

9. Sets up and makes sure all operation records are properly maintained and reviewed.

10. Maintains a clean facility and makes sure equipment maintenance is acceptable (5S, OPM)..

11. Works on company-wide improvement projects as assigned.

12. Performs other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge, skills & abilities: Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skills required. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business Management, Supply Chain Operations, Engineering, or equivalent of 10-15 years experience.

2. 4-6 years of proven leadership experience in a labor intensive production/manufacturing environment required.

3. Experience in shop floor management role required.

4. Experience in Quality, Lean, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment preferred

5. Experience in a fabrication/machine shop environment preferred.

6. Ability to hold teams accountable and provide feedback.

7. Computer skills proficiency (MS –Word and Excel).

8. Candidate must be fluent in both English and Spanish

WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.
