PA Operations Support Technician to relocate to Northern VA as a Junior System Administrator for Leading-Edge Software Company

Job Description

Berryville Holdings, LLC is seeking an Operations Technician for our Operations Center in Lansford, PA for a six-month probation period. At the conclusion of the probation period, you will be paid to relocate to Herndon, VA as a Junior System Administrator.

As an Operations Technician, you will have two core functions. First, you will assist the development team in testing new software, patches to existing software, and anything else requiring testing. Second, you will absorb our training videos, documentation, etc., and become the go-to technician for internal assistance and upgrades.

As a Junior Systems Administrator, you will maintain the availability and security of corporate systems. Administrative responsibilities span Linux, Android, and Windows operating systems. You will learn proficiency in scripting languages. Additional duties include conducting regular quality assurance checks of our complex cyber protection platform, testing new releases of this platform, and the ability to stand up, operate, and demonstrate product functionality.

This is a full-time position (Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm, subject to change). The salary range for the probational period will be 40,000-$42,000 based on experience. Once relocated to Herndon, Virginia, the salary range will be $70,000-$80,000.

This position is W2 only. Potential candidates MUST be legal US residents with the ability to pass an extensive criminal background check, government security investigation, and drug test.

Job Responsibilities

· Working with the development team to test software

· Maintaining internal environments

· Actively monitoring production and development applications

· Resolving issues within your purview and escalating them when outside it

· Reporting bugs and user experience issues

· Internal help desk functions (web-based chat, help desk tickets, phone calls, fulfilling order requests, turning things off and on again, and more!)

· Install and support BVH technology (Physical Servers, cloud servers, embedded device, network equipment)

· Regularly install and operate our software product and report its quality to developers

· Set up and operate all aspects of the product Troubleshoot general hardware, software, and network issues

· Install and support office technology (Desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, A/V, network equipment)

· Catalog and organize all lab equipment and IT inventory

Required Experience

· Bachelor's degree in CIS, CS or related field

Required Skills

· Ability to self-manage and prioritize tasks

· Have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and punctuality

· Must speak fluent, easily understandable English

· Be well groomed and professionally dressed on a daily basis

· Honest, reliable, proactive, possessing a strong work ethic

· MUST PLAY WELL WITH OTHERS

Desired Skills

· Enjoy a franchise that has the word "Star" in the title

· Know at least three words or phrases in a fictional language (with a desire to teach them to others)
