Overview:

Pete’s Tire Barns is currently seeking an experienced Outside Commercial Sales Representative to manage our Woburn, Massachusetts sales and service area. The territory will consist of the greater Boston area. The candidate must live in, close to, or be willing to relocate to the sales territory.

Licenses & Certifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Highschool degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of progressive sales experience in a related field required

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to self-schedule
  • Ability to prospect new business, form an action plan, and successfully execute it

  • Ability to lift or move heavy items on occasion

Essential Functions:
  • Manage Heavy Truck, OTR, Agricultural, and Light Truck customer base in given area.
  • Maintain existing business and establish prospective business through value driven customer specific product and service recommendations.
  • Utilize our internal CRM software to build customer profiles, submit orders, and quote customers.
  • Resolve customer issues by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations.
  • Monitor local competition by gathering current market information on pricing, products, and delivery and service capabilities.
  • Ethically meet and exceed sales and profitability expectations through best practices.
  • Always represent one’s self and company professionally and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Self-schedule and best manage time by creating and executing a work plan.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of company supported products and services to provide accurate information to customers.
  • Willingness to help with various duties outside of normal functions such as inventory counts, occasional deliveries, store coverage, etc.
  • Work closely and as a team player with store, distribution, and office support personnel.
  • Assist the Credit Manager in ensuring timely payment from assigned customer base.
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks which may include fleet tire surveys, light and heavy lifting of commercial tires and wheels, standing, bending, sitting and squatting.
