Compotech is searching for an experienced and skilled Project Manager to manage multiple product development projects. This person will be supported by a team of highly skilled engineers and technical experts. Compotech is a defense contractor that develops and manufactures critical technologies for the United States armed forces. Primary Responsibilities:
· Manage the development of multiple products.
· Sole responsibility of the projects from implementation through completion.
· Implement project management controls and processes
· Manage team of engineers and technicians to develop new products and technologies
· Serve as an interface between the Engineering group and internal/external customers.
· Foster a team environment with collaborative and open communication culture, setting clear team goals. Delegating tasks and set deadlines for team.
· Ensure that lessons learned and best practices are incorporated into project designs.
· Document standardized business procedures and systems to support the operations; includes design reviews, product change management, unit configuration records, etc.
· Help define project scope, goals, and deliverables for project proposals
· Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
· Monitor project performance to ensure the team stays on the approved timeline, manage budget performance, identify risks involved in a project and mitigate those risks.
· Establish milestones and monitor adherence to master plans and schedules.
· Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
· Provide project revenue reports and profit forecasts as regular project status updates.
· Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
· Provide regular updates to team, management, and PMO on work performed, schedule, budget, and overall status.
· Support the preparation of proposals, business plans, work statements, specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.
· Identify parts list as needed per work scope.
· Apply PM methodology.
· Be self-motivated and can forecast risks and challenges.
· Have the ability to multitask.
· Drive a high-performance culture through strong leadership and effective team management using varied resources across multiple departments and organizations.
Qualifications / Skills:
· Technical degree. BS in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering preferred
· 7+ years project management experience
· Previous experience in product development preferred
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Relationship building
· Project scheduling
· Project budgeting
· MS Office & products (Excel, Word, Outlook, Projects & Visio)
· Subcontractor and vendor management
· PMP Cert. preferred
· Travel required
· US citizen
