JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Manager will oversee the activity of both the quality assurance and quality control departments and staff. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability of products and services which is consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals. The Quality Manager is responsible to review situations from the customer’s viewpoint and make decisions on quality issues from that viewpoint. The Quality Manager has the responsibility and authority to recommend changes, identify and record any problems relating to product, process or the Quality Management System.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Understand the specifications and requirements related to our products (e.g., ISO, ASME, PED and Welding requirements, etc.).
  • Work closely with our 3rd party inspection Companies.
  • Work closely with the compliance, production and project management groups to recommend and support continuous growth of these systems;
  • Understand, create, document and improve inspection criteria and procedures;
  • Design, develop and implement quality related training programs for quality control and other groups in the organization;
  • Interpret specifications, regulations and quality control philosophies and communicate these throughout the company;
  • Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate internal QC and external customer findings using appropriate RCA methodologies. Work with cross functional teams to implement countermeasures and improvements;
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams; maintain an active role on continuous improvement teams;
  • Oversee Corporate Quality Assurance Program at all Hebeler Holdings locations, working with leadership teams to develop strategic plan for improvementLiaison with customers for inspections

Coordinate and lead corporate ISO/ASME/PED audits
Coordinate and lead cross-functional internal audits
Control NCRs
Participate, as required, in Job kick-off and close-out meetings
Responsible for Quality / Compliance deliverables

  • Establish and maintain the corporate quality systems and policies, including but not limited to the Quality Manual and ISO certification
  • Oversee Corporate Vendor Documentation / Document ControlCustomer Vendoc deliverables
  • Support Customer Service initiativesFollow up and monitor implementation of corrective actions for customer quality claims

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a cross boarder team of Quality Assurance and Quality Control associates

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education;
  • Continuous Improvement experience (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • 3-5 years Quality Management experience in a manufacturing environment required
  • Welding & NDE Knowledge / Certifications preferred (AWS, CWI, ASNT Certs, etc);
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards required
  • Supervisory / Management Experience.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met.
  • Develop professional and process expertise to provide improved assistance to internal and external customers.
  • Have good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; as well as Adobe Acrobat and Windows.
  • Able to comprehend technical documents, specifications, and codes quickly – and apply this knowledge.
  • Familiar with weld verification methods, weld testing methodology, measuring devices;
  • Able to maintain effective working relationships with staff and those encountered in the course of work.
  • Able to understand proper handling of all paperwork required in department, including reporting of time
  • Able to manage a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions
  • Able to function and concentrate in a busy, noisy environment

The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop or bend and lift up to 25 pounds.

This job requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
