Mechanical Engineer - Turbomachinery

Senior turbomachinery engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development and testing of high-speed turbomachines supported on foil gas bearings for advanced Clean Energy Technology applications

Position Responsibilities

· Able to work on engineering programs from initial concept through layout, manufacturing, assembly and testing

· Have strong technical background in mechanical design and analysis

· Ability to lead testing of turbomachines, including analysis of test data

· Detail oriented in checking drawings, Bill of Materials and performing tolerance calculations

· Ability to develop analytical models and perform hand calculations to design turbomachine components

· Lead technical troubleshooting of turbomachines and develop solutions

· Work with manufacturing engineers, assembly technicians and test engineers in development and delivery of turbomachines

· Have good documentation and organizational skills

· Good verbal and communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills for interfacing with engineering team, shop personnel, subcontractors, and customers.

Position Requirements

· BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering

· 2-5 years of experience in turbomachinery field preferred
