Meritage Hospitality Group, one of the nation’s largest Wendy’s franchisees, developer of West Michigan restaurant concepts like Stan’s Tacos and Morning Belle, and soon to be the largest franchisee of Taco John's, is seeking a full time Senior Property and Casualty Claims Specialist to join our Risk Management team.

What You’ll Do
As the Senior Property and Casualty Claims Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of Risk Management functions including but not limited to general liability incidents and claims, property incidents and claims, incident prevention and workplace safety. This position will also assist in annual Property & Casualty Insurance renewals and acquisition processing. The Senior Property and Casualty Claims Specialist will need to work independently with a significant degree of discretion and judgment.

Responsibilities of the Senior Property and Casualty Claims Specialist include:

• Responsible for Property, General Liability, and Liquor Liability incidents to assess root cause of injuries and/or damages. Will also assist with carrier submissions and settlement determinations
• Investigates and addresses customer general liability incidents
• Investigates and documents property damage losses
• Collaborates with third party claim administrators and insurance carriers in resolving general liability claims
• Submits property claims to the insurance carrier and oversees claims through until fully resolved
• Identifies subrogation potential on property and general liability incidents and claims
• Provides instruction and direction to operations, maintenance, and the Restaurant Service Center in regard to loss prevention, workplace safety and incident reporting
• Supports training program development and delivery tools for operations
• Assists with acquisition due diligence and assimilation
• Performs other duties as required
• Special ad hoc projects as assigned
