JOB SUMMARY

An employee within this position shall demonstrate an ability to complete a variety of tasks accurately and efficiently, both individually and within a team environment. This position advocates for and regularly interacts with insureds to resolve claims and other risk management issues including but not limited to third-party vendor contracts, and various policy matters such as coverage analysis and regulations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor high exposure claims with the carrier; keep interested parties informed.
  • Review coverage denial letters for validity; draft rebuttal response, if necessary.
  • Organize and participate in claim reviews.
  • Answer questions related to insurance, contracts, and risk transfer issues.
  • Review insured contracts analyzing all insurance related clauses, stipulations, obligations, liabilities, indemnification language, and insurance requirements to protect the insured; draft recommended changes and or offer alternate language, if necessary. Primary goal is to help insureds mitigate unexpected or avoidable contractual disputes.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of property & casualty insurance coverage, including full awareness of contractual obligations and applicable insurance compliance.
  • Assume other job responsibilities as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Communicate effectively in English, in written, oral or schedule form with others to explain complex issues, receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
  • Maintain cordial and effective relationships with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors and other business contacts.
  • Ability to apply the concepts of basic accounting, calculate figures and amounts involving decimals such as fractions, pro-rata and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of all responsibilities.
  • Use Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Outlook & Power Point) and office equipment.
  • Must possess a professional work ethic.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE

  • Master’s degree or MBA, with advanced and specialized training in contractual agreements is preferred; or bachelor’s degree (B.A.) with equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in commercial property and casualty claims.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
