Job Description :

We are looking for a skilled Software Quality Assurance Engineer to provide test cases and test results throughout development to ensure timely and successful delivery of software releases. You’ll be joining a friendly and highly skilled group of technical engineers and scientists working on exciting new product development in a flexible, collaborative environment. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Software QA Engineer to expand their testing skills and become a hands-on expert with an interesting and complex high-tech product.

The Role

  • Develop and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, including both manual and automated test cases to provide coverage of new features. Manage the test instrumentation lab as a functional support resource for the software development team.
  • Use our instruments (atomic force microscopes and related accessories) to highlight and advise on software bugs and usability issues, including but not limited to functional, regression, user case, stress and performance testing. Interface with the applications and development teams to reproduce, track and resolve bugs.
  • Actively engaged in all aspects of the software testing process including project timelines, new configurations, metrics and daily build status updates. Proactively identify areas of weakness and implement continuous improvements to alleviate risk.
Successful candidates will have:
  • A proven track record of software QA/testing of instrumentation software in a high-tech product development environment. Experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS), or Jira strongly preferred.
  • A science/engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience; notably, an analytical mind, the ability to troubleshoot and document errors, and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm, eagerness, and ability to learn quickly. A curious, driven, methodical and detail-oriented mindset. Proactive approach and ability to work independently on several competing priorities.
  • The ability to communicate clearly both in person and in writing and build strong professional relationships with colleagues across multiple departments and geographies.

Salary: In accordance with California law, the expected annual salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $90,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
