PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Investigates the source and cause of errors, harm, or faults in the civil or structural fields on residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
  • Conducts field investigations, coordinates multi-party inspections, and records damaged property.
  • Will work on engineering calculations for ADUs. and Structural observations on the filed for inspections as requested.
  • Must have a valid Structural license to stamp plans and observations.
  • Prepares precise, understandable, comprehensive, and succinct reports and letters detailing the origin and source of the damages to clients. Utilizes sound judgement when applying established policies, procedures, and processes to potentially complex or unique situations. Reports and papers are submitted on time and in accordance with the client's standards and expectations.
  • If necessary, offers expert testimony in court.
  • Establishes a rapport of trust with clients and engages in social interaction with them during a variety of engagements.
  • Helps to prepare design and construction papers as well as offers solutions to general and engineering challenges.
  • Compiles structural engineering data from the approved sources; examines shop drawings and product submittals for overall compliance with the structural engineering documents.
  • Manage small- to medium-sized projects in a technical area of expertise.
  • Structure analysis and design of hydraulic structures related to dams, flood control, hydroelectric facilities, and other water resource projects are among the responsibilities.
  • Travel, especially overnight trips, is necessary to reach project locations and other offices.
  • Evaluate and analyse the data that has been gathered, then write technical memos, letters, and reports.
  • Create construction plans, technical requirements, budget projections, and bid documents.
  • Support other GEI offices with proposals and the delivery of professional services, as well as help with the creation of proposals to offer professional services.
  • Manage structural project teams and take responsibility for adhering to the budget and schedule.
  • Give tanks, basins, and other building facilities at water and wastewater treatment plants structural engineering designs.
  • Design masonry, wood, concrete, and steel constructions in accordance with IBC.
  • Design concrete structures for environmental structures according to ACI 318 and ACI 350.
  • Conduct condition evaluations of existing structures.
  • To create 3-D models and design drawings, create thorough design sketches, work directly with CAD or Revit, and collaborate with the designer staff.

Requirements/Qualification/Skills

  • It is necessary to have a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering or a related field.
  • Active EE is necessary (in the state of employment is preferred)
  • Experience working in industrial and commercial settings is preferred.
  • Technical know-how, including CRM and the Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to function in varied environmental circumstances including bad weather
  • Ability to operate in high places, such as on scaffolding or roofs, which requires physical dexterity, balance, and a lack of acrophobia.
  • Limited expertise in structural analysis, drafting, and design development; a master's degree in structural engineering; and LEED accreditation are all preferred.
  • Experience with structural analysis and finite element modelling is necessary.
  • Ability to interview experts in engineering, business, and industry and to communicate their findings in a technical manner.
  • Ability to combine observations and analysis into practical technological findings using inductive reasoning and engineering judgement.
  • Strong theoretical grounding in seismic engineering, finite element modelling, and proficiency with industry-standard structural engineering software (SAP2000 and LS DYNA/ANSYS).
  • Willing to visit to the necessary site locations.
  • Preferably with ASCE 41 experience.
  • Experience with commercial design is a plus; structural design experience with wastewater treatment plants or industrial projects is preferred.
  • PE licence is necessary.
  • License SE recommended

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

License/Certification:

  • Professional Engineer (Preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 25% (Preferred)
