Overview

The Visual Merchandising Manager Designer is a manager level position and a subject matter expert with a focus on store merchandising visual sets and standards. This will include creative direction with private label and new product, in addition to seasonal shifts and special events in stores. The Visual Merchandising Manager is responsible for facilitating the arrangement of visual displays to attract customers to purchase the products. This position monitors the sales performance of stores and web and develops effective merchandise strategies to boost revenues and increase profitability. They also assist in creating promotional events and discount offers, as well as designing the store's layout during seasonal events and special occasions. A Visual Merchandising Manager must have excellent influential leadership and communication skills, especially on guiding and directing how product is merchandised within store to maximize sales. The Visual Merchandising Manager will provide support to the merchandising, store, ecommerce, and marketing teams. This position reports to the VP of Merchandising and Planning and has a strong partnership with the private label team in Merchandising. This role requires a high degree of attention to detail and creativity, blended with the ability to produce quality work at a strong pace. It also requires discretion, good judgement, and tact. The Visual Merchandising Manager must possess a blend of interpersonal, creative, and technical skill. They must stay up to date with the latest trends, always learning new ways to attract and retain customers, and finding effective ways to ensure merchandising consistency across all retail platforms. This role has a steady focus on the customer experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values

· Serve as a strong partner and key support resource to the company

· Creates and facilitates the successful arrangement of visual displays that attract customers to purchase our products

· Monitors sales performance and develops effective merchandise strategies to boost sales and increase overall profitability thru visual techniques

· Designs store visual layouts, as well as assist in creation of seasonal and promotional event visuals

· Prepare visual guides instructing retail branches throughout the country how to appropriately build out and design visual merchandising areas of the store

· Research current industry trends and remain on the cutting edge of visual design and merchandising

· Participate in meetings with other departments to determine areas to be addressed and improved upon

· Account for the company's message and vision and creatively incorporate them into visual design

· Create attractive concepts to be used in-store signage and on social media platforms

· Communicate with marketing team to establish strategies and design concepts for product launches and displays

· Plan, monitor and account for the time and manpower required to build and stock store displays and communicate this information with leadership

· Consistently meet deadlines, be open to change and take creative direction as needed

Qualifications and Requirements

· 3+ years of successful visual merchandising experience

· 3+ years of successful design experience, with portfolio examples

· 2+ years of successful private label creation, design and marketing

· Detailed knowledge of the product and industry preferred

· Ability to work diligently with little supervision

· Confident in creating and communicating concepts in business meetings and to supervisors

· Excited and energetic in designing new ways to reach customers

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and creative environment

· Experience researching and determining industry and marketing trends

· Adherence to the brand's goals, philosophy and policy regarding marketing and sales strategies

· Microsoft Word, PowerPoint & Excel skills and proficiency

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Flexible during times of change

· Must be hands-on and capable of independently producing work

· Ability to apply abstract principles to a wide range of complex tasks

· Based in Tyler, TX at the Home Office

· Travel up to 15% will be required

Preferred Skills

· BA in Fine Arts or Graphic Design, or related degree or experience preferred

· Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Illustrator, Bridge

· Project management within an organization and with outside vendors

· Familiar with web page layout and design

· General knowledge of fonts and typography

· Ability to handle confidential or proprietary information with discretion

· Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

· Ability to handle multiple projects at once in a fast-moving environment

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
