Accounting Clerk

The Accounting Clerk manages payable accounts for services rendered, managing PO’s for suppliers and vendors, simultaneously developing tracking spreadsheets for use with payables reconciliations. The Accounting Clerk reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for maintaining up to date payables records and processing all daily check/wire/ACH requests.

Responsibilities:

  • General ledger journal entries and credit card and bank account reconciliation.
  • Accounts payable invoice payment and data entry.
  • Handling payments in an organized and timely manner.
  • Development and maintenance of Excel spreadsheets.
  • Reconcile internal business account credit card statements.
  • Sales and use tax returns, filings, as needed.
  • Ensuring imaging of invoice supporting documents is timely and accurately performed.
  • Assisting with audit support as necessary.
  • Assisting in streamlining the accounts payable process.
  • Working with account receivable clerk and others to resolve account issues when necessary.
  • Expense report handling.
  • Utilize computerized accounting software programs (NetSuite, Excel, Word) to perform duties and responsibilities; develop tracking spreadsheets.
  • Customer contact for all Accounts Payables related issues.
  • Enter all accounts payable journey entries into ERP system.
  • Reconcile all vendor statements, research, and correct discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate database of 1099 contractors.
  • Invoice data capture, coding invoices with correct account and cost center, approving invoices, matching invoices to purchase orders and posting for payment.
  • Responsible for paying electronic and paper invoices for suppliers and vendors for goods and services purchased by the company.
  • Assists in financial management and analysis, as requested.
  • Clarifying questionable invoice items.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. Some college courses in accounting-related field are helpful.
  • 2 + years Accounts Payable experience.
  • Proficient in Word, Microsoft Outlook, utilizing ERP systems & a multitude of computer programs for various tasks beyond general accounting.
  • Advanced abilities within Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service and telephone skills.
  • Ability to work well with your team members who may be both remote and on-site.

Pay: $47,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
