The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the daily full-cycle accounting functions and staff for the company and its related entities. Accordingly, the Accounting Manager will supervise a team of Accountants and oversee all transactions entered into the company’s accounting software (PDI Enterprise). This position reports directly to the Controller.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting transactions.
• Build management and financial reports utilizing PDI Analytics software.
• Comply with audit and internal control procedures.
• Administer the month end and year end close procedures for the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements:
• Prepare work papers.
• Deliver financial statements to Controller and leadership team
• Aid in financial statement preparation and review; gather data for footnote preparation.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly bank compliance reports.
• Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the accounting staff.
• Coordinate the annual audit process with external auditors.
• Coordinate the annual tax process for CPG and its affiliates with external accountants.
• Maintain the existing accounting system (PDI) and ensure compliance with US GAAP.
• Manage real estate and sales and use tax filings.
• Implement, manage, and maintain lease accounting and reporting.
• Support the Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.
• Initiate month end/quarter-end close review with staff and identify opportunities for efficiencies.

Qualifications and Key Skills:

Must have a college degree in Accounting, Finance or Business; Active CPA required. Documented track record (5+ years) experience managing a full life cycle accounting function and staff in a deadline-oriented for-profit Company; direct knowledge of the petroleum industry desired.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Solid technical accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of and experience with US GAAP, FASBs and accounting operations (G/L, A/P, A/R, F/A).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Skilled in preparing accurate and complete financial reports.
• Strong organization, time management, and personnel management skills.
• Strong customer service focus with the ability to manage up and provide coaching.
• Proactive self-starter with strong work ethic.
• Team player with a positive attitude and a focus on issue resolution.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge or experience with Petroleum industry/ Retail/ Real estate.
• Lease Accounting experience.
• Experience with Lease Accounting Software (Lease Query).
• Knowledge of Local, State, and Federal tax regulations.
• Experience with PDI Enterprise or Tier 1 accounting software (Oracle, JD Edwards, Sage).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
