Job Summary

The Accounting Specialist I actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the franchise/customer experience.

You Will

• Responsible for timely and accurately handling insurance carrier payments and in turn making electronic payments to our franchisees.
• Responsible for balancing all insurance clearing accounts and following up on any outstanding items.
• Review and carry out payment processing.
• Be the liaison between the insurance company and the franchises.
• Balance accounts and audit open and unpaid claims.
• Run accounting department reports as requested.
• Complete special projects as assigned.

You Have

• Ability to read, write, and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner.
• Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
• Highly organized and proficient in multi-tasking
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong Excel background.
• Solid data entry skills with an ability to identify numerical errors.
• Ability to provide thorough reports and documentation of multiple activities.
• Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
• Must be flexible with high reliability and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and on a team within a fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree in business, accounting or relative course work preferred.
