GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for collaborating with business partners, management, staff and the project management office to effectively integrate business applications in to a seamless, productive and efficient work environment.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Math or related major, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3 years application development experience.
  • Experience with mainstream object-oriented languages such as C# or Java.

Additional Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions using the Microsoft technology stack, including C#, .NET Core, and ASP.NET Core.
  • Experience in web-based technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Experience in JS front end frameworks such as Vue (preferred) and React.
  • Familiarity with creating and consuming web services, including both REST and SOAP (XML).
  • Experience in secure coding practices and techniques (SAST, DAST).
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including creating data models and building stored procedures, queries, and reports.
  • Experience with Source Control frameworks such as Git (preferred) and TFVC.
  • Familiarity with core credit union/banking systems such as JHA Symitar.

Minimum Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

  • Knowledge of good coding practices and standards, including object-oriented design, code refactoring, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience in creating and implementing technical documentation and software release cycles.
  • Experience with project management methodologies such as waterfall and agile (preferred) and associated tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Communication skills - including the ability to convey information to non-technical colleagues in a concise and clear way.
  • Understanding of business processes and constraints.
  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with a wide variety of people.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:

Requires the employee to sit a majority of the time. Infrequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required. Some travel may be necessary.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must remain familiar with and adhere to Vantage West Credit Union policies and procedures and comply with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act.


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES AND TASKS:

1. Ensures application requirements and efficiencies match the organizational needs.

2. Full lifecycle application development with ability to deliver quality products on time.

3. Designs, codes and debugs applications in various software languages.

4. Front end graphical user interface design.

5. Web APIs design.

6. Implements new features by gathering requirements, performing design, coding and unit testing, creating design patterns, and assisting in quality assurance testing.

7. Maintains and develops existing software by fixing issues and implementing new functionality.

8. Participates in application technical support: investigation, tracking, and solving support requests.

9. Follows established SDLC processes, such as code standards, documentation, status meetings, etc., as well as establishes new processes to streamline operations.

10. Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of database schemas and relational concepts related to application support.

11. Learns new techniques and keeps up to date of changes in the software development industry.

12. Performs other duties as assigned.


Salary range is $71,805.29-$94,244.45. Job Grade, EX-14. Final salary is dependent on a candidate's experience and qualifications.
