Job Summary:

The Assistant Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of our Trucking Fleet, CDL Drivers, Dispatch Team and our Repair & Maintenance Shop. This individual will plan, direct, coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for safely executing on the delivery of our products and services as well as the repair and maintenance of our mixed trucking and equipment fleet.

Essential Functions:

• Safety always wins. Promote safety culture through employee engagement prioritizing zero incidents, and complying with all company and federal safety policies and procedures.
• Respect and engage. Assist and provide appropriate leadership, resources and processes to ensure consistent on-time delivery of our products and services.
• Compulsive Tinkering. Assist and coordinate with all repair and maintenance of our mixed trucking and mobile equipment fleet.
• Maintain up-to-date records related to all NYS DOT and the FMCSA regulations.
• Focused. Identify and resolve regulatory, safety, personnel, and production problems, either directly or indirectly, in a timely and effective manner.
• Working with our environmental department to ensure compliance with all operating permit conditions and applicable environmental laws and regulations.
  

Requirements, Education and Experience:

• Demonstrate high ethical standards and a dedicated commitment to safety.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Dispatch and logistics experience, 1 year preferred.
• Strong mechanical knowledge.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills , proficient verbal and written English.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Proven dependability, organization, problem solving and adaptability skills.
• High degree of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to details.
• Legal right to work in USA.
• Proficient in verbal and written English language

Travel:

Position may require up to 50% travel by personal vehicle to offices throughout the state of New York, and New England based on the needs of the business.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up-to 10 pounds of force frequently, and or a negligible amount of force constant to move objects. Job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods of time in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
