Job Description – Bank Teller

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Teller is responsible for accurately conducting financial transactions, providing excellent customer service to bank customers and responses to inquiries regarding products and services. Duties are performed under the established bank policies and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end-of-shift and calculate daily transactions using computer, calculator, or adding machine, balance and replenish automated cash recycler, identify transaction errors when debits and credits do not balance

• Accurately process customer transactions such as cash back, deposits, loan payments, night deposits, and mail deposits and other requests by following established bank policy.

• Prepare and verify cashier’s checks, money orders, and cash advances.

• Ensure the highest level of customer service possible is provided to all bank customer at each interaction.

• Follow procedures established according to teller manual and all other policies set forth by the bank.

Equivalent Education/Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent is required

• Minimum 6 months recent teller experience

SPECIAL JOB DIMENSIONS:

• Work involves periodic overtime, Saturday morning rotations.
