Bookkeeper

Performs a variety of administrative duties related to the documentation that contribute to the professional, friendly, and profitable operation of the financial operations of the business.

Job tasks include but are not limited to the following:

Job Tasks

· Assist and support Accounting Manager in preparing and maintaining accounts receivable and accounts payable

· Enter data, maintain records and create reports and financial statements

· Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process

· Utilize QuickBooks to track revenue & expenses, generate monthly/quarterly reports, and reconcile accounts

· Maintain accurate records and properly file paperwork

· Conduct banking activities, such as preparing deposits, overseeing transactions

· Participate in the development of lean procedures, processes, and methods

Technical Skills

• Associate's degree in accounting or business administration or 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a business-services environment.

• Proficiency in MS Office suite, specifically Word and Excel

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Physical Requirements

• Requires periods of working behind a desk and documenting work

• Requires lifting 20 lbs without assistance

Work Environment

Work is performed in a boat yard, which can subject workers to loud levels of noise, fumes, debris, tripping hazards and sharp metal edges. Personal protective equipment will be provided to staff, but personnel are responsible for ensuring that the equipment is properly used and for being aware of their surroundings.
