UHY is currently partnering with a highly regarded family-owned business looking for its next great financial leader to join the organization! This individual will serve as a key member of the leadership team and partner with the chief executive officer and family to achieve the company vision of excellence and growth. The successful candidate will serve as an integral leader in our organization with oversight for all financial activities including the preparation of current financial and accounting reports and summaries and create forecasts predicting future growth. The CFO is responsible to monitor the financial success of the company and, where appropriate, suggest corrective action as well as opportunities for improvement. The CFO will serve as a credible, knowledgeable, and trusted financial resource to the Family, CEO and, senior department leaders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Lead the firm's strategic and operational finance initiatives, including financial planning and analysis, reporting, accounting, tax, Treasury/financial risk management, budgeting, and billing and collections.
• Supports financial forecasts and development of the annual five-year business plan, including balance sheet and cash flows.
• Develops finance organizational strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations to strategic thinking and direction and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
• Lead and direct year-end audit with external certified public accountant (CPA) firm.
• Partners with external CPA firm in preparation of tax returns
• Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining pricing, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; accumulating resources; resolving problems; and implementing change.
• Develops organization prospects by studying economic trends and revenue opportunities; projecting acquisition and expansion prospects; analyzing organization operations; identifying opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and systems enhancement; and accumulating capital to fund expansion.
• Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; and developing action plans.
• Monitors financial performance by measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
• In conjunction with the CEO, oversees the human resource function including company’s insurance needs, administration of 401k plan, and compliance related matters
• Work collaboratively with internal departments (financial and non-financial), support change initiatives to improve profitability and cash flow performance, as well as overall organizational health.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or another related field
• 10 to 15 years of relevant professional experience
• Prior retail industry experience strongly preferred
• Experience working with high growth, entrepreneurial companies
• CPA highly preferred
• Experience utilizing Great Plains preferred
• Effective at evaluating and streamlining processes to drive improved efficacy and efficiency
• Ability to engage and lead a team

Desired Skills

• Strong general ledger, accounting, reporting, working capital management and banking knowledge base
• Advanced skillset in Excel, accounting policies and systems management
• Analytical with a focused attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
