Chief Compliance Officer – Job Description
Boswell Pharmacy Services, LLC
Boswell Pharmacy Services, LLC (BPS) was founded in 1995 and has been providing correctional pharmacy services for over 25 years. BPS works with multiple correctional health care providers and directly with correctional agencies and facilities to provide and manage correctional pharmacy operations. In that role, BPS provides pharmacy services to state and county correctional facilities, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE), and the U.S. Marshals Service throughout the United States. BPS currently has contracts that serve approximately 80,000 prison inmates including, among others, various statewide correctional systems. Locally, BPS is one of the largest employers in Somerset County.
BPS is currently seeking an experienced compliance professional to serve as Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) in a cross-functional role with respect to pharmacy and/or manufacturer registrations. It is also possible this compliance professional could serve in a similar capacity with retail pharmacy businesses under common ownership/control pursuant to joint employment arrangements with BPS. The responsibilities of the CCO will include the following:
The CCO will serve as an active part of senior leadership and will be the primary compliance authority and advisor to the organization. Reporting directly to senior management, the CCO will serve as a strategic business partner dedicated to managing the compliance function for the business, as well as reducing BPS’ potential regulatory risk exposure. The CCO will play a critical role in proactively developing and optimizing relationships throughout the organization and continuing to maintain a culture that actively seeks compliance input to further optimize compliance in day-to-day operations. This position will serve as a role model for ethical management behavior and promote an awareness and understanding of positive ethical principles and compliance with federal and state laws in all areas of the organization.
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree. Additional certifications or degrees, such as a pharmacy degree, juris doctorate, and/or compliance certification(s) (i.e., CRCM, CCEP, CPCO) are preferred. In addition, candidates should have an outstanding record of achievement with at least 5 years of experience preferred, including prior compliance experience in a pharmacy or similarly regulated setting, prior management experience, and/or prior experience with a state or federal government regulatory agency.
Remote work is possible but this position will require at least 3 days per week on-site at BPS.
Some local travel may also be required to satisfy joint employment obligations.
