Controller Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics, MBA or CPA required
- Manufacturing or Distribution industry accounting experience preferred
- SAP experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of all Accounting and Finance cycles, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, internal audit and external audit, Information Systems, Risk Management, and Tax
- Contract Law and Employee practices knowledge
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, written and oral communication skills
- 20 years in progressively more responsible financial leadership roles
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal control
- Lead financial activity by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policy and procedure
- Lead the annual external audit
- Design, implement, supervise, and monitor financial systems and procedures
- Partner with Information Technology to streamline system design and functionality
- Inform and advise the President on financial results, forecasts, and internal control
- Manage, review, and publish the financial reports and statements of the company
- Coach, mentor, train, and lead the Accounting and Finance department
- Assess strengths of all financial functions and implement changes as necessary
- Lead all banking activity and control the lines of credit
- Manage cash and investments consistent with company objectives
- Manage inventory and other working capital
- Protect Accounts Receivable, minimizing overdue accounts and leading collection activity
- Manage and optimize tax strategy
- Implement cost saving policies and procedures everywhere
- Authorize payments on scheduled check run dates and for special circumstances
- Control and administrate salaried payroll
- Protect and record Lease documents, Customer and Supplier contracts
- Maintain the Corporate Critical Dates calendar and inform accordingly
- Lead corporate Risk Management
- Lead Pricing and Quoting organization, consistent with company objectives
- Any other job requirements as directed by the President
