We are seeking an experienced Controller to work closely with our CFO and manage the financial and accounting activities within the organization. The Controller will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis, forecasting and oversees the AP/AR and payroll department. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in all financial and business planning activities, including accounting and controls, cash management, financial reporting (external and internal), financial analysis and planning, budgeting and forecasting, business contracts, capital structure, tax, audit and related support activities. Job Summary

The Controller is responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the general accounting functions of the organization. Be able to manage and prepare reports and statistics reflecting earnings, profits, cash balances, and other financial results in a manufacturing environment.

Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly financial reports to department managers and the leadership team members.

Establish monthly closing schedule.

Compile various composite operating and financial statements from individual reports of subordinates required by management or government agencies.

Supervise the maintenance of organization general ledgers.

Oversee the preparation of government related reports to include census report, sales and use tax returns, and property tax returns.

Review and approve journal entries and adjustments to the general ledger.

Determine accounting procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedites workflow.

Analyze and standardize procedures to improve efficiency of department operations.

Ensure reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information for management decisions.

Assist in preparing and compiling budget information and end of the year financial reports.

Work with internal and external auditors to verify financial reports.

Conduct special accounting studies and prepare reports as requested.

Keep up to date on regulations affecting the company's accounting procedures and recordkeeping.

Make recommendation to management on tax consequences of various business transactions.

Education and/or Experience

- Requires a bachelor's degree in Accounting, plus five to eight years related experience in a manufacturing environment.

- CPA certification is preferred
