Data Security Specialist (Morrisville NC or Eagan MN)

The Data Security Specialist protects against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction of data and may develop IT security policies and standards. Completes tasks designed to ensure security of the organization's systems and information assets. This resource should understand cloud service architecture and other IT philosophies designed to protect data at rest and in motion. May be required to work with other IT professionals and end users to determine need and provide organizational approved data security solutions. This resource will be asked to contribute to, or deliver tasks for, moderately and complex projects. Resource should be flexible and open to new an upcoming data security technologies and solutions from a variety of vendors. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. This position typically reports to a manager. Limited implementation work and/or support may be required outside normal business hours.

Required skills:
Experience administering and supporting data encryption tools, to include Cloud, Desktop, Email, & File Share Encryption technologies.
Provides data security guidance, recommendations, and best practices.
Assist with data security component upgrades, installs, testing, and configuration.
Provide a single point of contact and hands-on escalation and remediation for critical issues.
Respond rapidly to unplanned events, including after-hours support when needed.
Proactively communicate relevant technical information and alerts on known issues, hotfixes, new releases, etc.
Working knowledge of operating system platforms, network protocols, and security architecture.
Working knowledge of Postgres SQL.
Experience integrating solutions with SIEM and developing knowledge objects and monitoring a plus.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
Extensive experience (5+ years) in information security operations and/or related IT operational functions

EDUCATION:
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Security (Masters Degree preferred).

CERTIFICATIONS: (One or more desired)
CompTIA Net+
CompTIA A+
CompTIA Security +
CPTE - Certified Penetration Testing Engineer or CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker

Additional Provisions:

• Must be able to obtain a Position of Public Trust Clearance
• Pass both a client mandated clearance process to include drug screening, criminal history check and credit check.
• Once candidate’s resume is approved and interview passed, the agency is responsible for providing drug screening. Failure to submit the drug screening results will delay the security clearance process.
• If a candidate is given an interim clearance, continuation of employment is then based on the candidate receiving a sensitive clearance.
• All candidates must be a US Citizen, or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
• Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
• Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last five years. Military Service excluded. (Exception does not include military family members.)
• All overtime must be pre-approved in writing by the client manager or his/her designated representative.
• Agency will not be reimbursed for overtime charges without previous written authorization. Authorized overtime will be reimbursed at straight time.
• The enforced dress code is business casual, i.e. collared shirt with slacks for men, no skirts above the knee for women.
