Design Engineer

Responsible for design and CAD model deliverables for all OMFV program survivability solutions. Performs essential tasks and duties in preparation of engineering concepts, designs, and contract deliverables. Works with supervision interpreting sketches, mark ups, written and verbal directions to create engineering concepts, solid models, and 2Ddrawings as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

· Utilize 3D CAD systems for program design needs

· Improve existing products or design solutions to accommodate new requirements

· Represent Plasan team in all meetings associated with technical data package development and model requirements

· Prepare CAD engineering concepts and drawings

· Prepare basic engineering calculations to support design decisions

· Create presentations for program and design reviews

· Work with product data management software

· Demonstrate creativity and ingenuity in applying engineering principles and practices

· Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a Secret personnel clearance

· Flexibility in working hours

· Other duties as assigned

SKILL SET

· 5+ years’ engineering experience in mechanical design and CAD, preferably in military vehicle programs

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering preferred

· Experience in survivability and ballistics design preferred

· Experience with Creo strongly preferred, or alternate 3D CAD system

· Experience with Windchill preferred, or other product data management software

· Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M drafting standards, GD&T principles and model-based design (MBD) concepts

· Working knowledge of various military vehicle systems interfaces

· Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills. Has the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds and all levels in the organization.

· Plans well and able to manage multiple priorities

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
