VonLehman is seeking a Director of Human Resource Consulting to lead our HR Consulting practice. This individual will manage a team of HR Consultants and build the practice while working collaboratively with clients.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute sales processes and activities in the area of strategic HR to include: (1) Leading and developing new business opportunities to include: client relationship building and lead generation activities through multiple sales channels. (2) Participating in internal and external speaking and vendor demonstration events to generate additional business opportunities where appropriate.
  • Leads department by ensuring excellent quality and on-time deliverables are presented to clients while maintaining an established annual billable and/or practice development goal.
  • Knowledge of HR-related best practices, programs, trends, financial implications and how that translates to appropriate client needs.
  • Profitably manages projects within scope and to the benefit of the client relationship.
  • Streamlines workflow and assigns work based on capability, capacity, and client benefit. Updates methodologies and template deliverables to benefit efficiency within the HR Consulting Team.
  • Defines performance objectives for the HR Consulting team and coaches HR Consultants to ensure success in meeting billable expectations.
  • Directs consistent delivery by designing methodologies that ensure the design and delivery of services including, but not limited to, succession, recruiting, development, compensation and benefits, coaching and governance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides guidance and leadership to department; oversees all HR consulting engagements

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in related field. Ten plus years of related experience, preferably management consulting, HR or professional services

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of a mix of HR and consulting background required.
  • Active listener who asks great questions
  • Able to distill key points into client-ready deliverables
  • Earns respect and admiration of clients and team; builds rapport quickly
  • Has a consultative approach and is able to lead senior managers through transformation
  • Sees talent management as a means to accomplish strategic business objectives
  • Prods and listens for client needs / pain points and responds quickly by informing the team

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred

WORK HOURS

Business hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm. Additional work hours will be expected with increased work volumes.

EXPECTED TRAVEL

Work out of the Fort Wright office with travel to clients and other offices throughout the region as required.
