Director of Human Resources
Position Summary:
Directs and oversees the successful operations of the Human Resources Department which includes payroll, safety, training, human resources & employee relations, plant functions and other specialty areas. This position will direct these functions in the Mt. Vernon and Byesville facilities.
Essential Job Functions:
*Oversees the day-to-day operations of this department
*Develop and oversee the implementation of all strategic HR initiatives
*Responsible for the professional development of all associates
*Manage recruitment strategies for staffing both management level and factory positions
*Assists in planning and enforcement of safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines.
*Provides guidance for all employees and mediates when necessary
*Responsible for HR policy/procedure design, interpretation, and implementation
*Reviews and writes job descriptions
*Conducts exit interviews
*Conducts salary surveys
*Maintains compliancy for all State & Federal labor laws, 401K compliance testing, FLSA, FMLA, ADA and EEO-1 reporting if needed
*Participates in collective bargaining and maintains compliancy with the contract and helps mediate grievances as necessary
*Responsible for all Worker’s Compensation and Unemployment issues
*Monitors employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
*Collects, analyzes and prepares statistical reports such as staffing trends
*Manages the implementation, administration, and communication of employee benefit plans
*Attend scheduled corporate training and meetings
*Mentor and live the Fundamentals
*Willingness to travel between facilities
*Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
*Professional in all communication
*Realizes that the HR Department is a service department
*Detail oriented, dependable, able to multi-task and prioritize
*Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet required deadlines
*Strong understanding of MS Office, Word, Excel and Power Point
*Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
*Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public
Education and Experience:
*Strong knowledge of safety in a manufacturing environment
*Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Human Resources or Associates Degree with 8 years of HR supervisory or managerial experience
*PHR certification
*SHRM CP certification also preferred
*Prefers OSHA 30 updated training
*Experience with Union labor relations and collective bargaining contract negotiations
*Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing plant highly preferred & willing to travel between facilities as needed.
