Position Function:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of MIS will ensure effective operations of all functions within the Information Technology Systems department. Must ensure seamless availability of all technology systems for the SSA’s 24-hour operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Ensure proper, timely management of all computer systems and any associated equipment, such as telecommunications, disks and tapes, including any software maintenance.

· Project management leader of up to 10 direct reports

· Provide all the planning for short-term as well las long-term changes and enhancements for all automated equipment utilized by the Authority.

· Evaluate and make recommendations to upgrade, enhance, and/or replace existing systems, as needed.

· Coordinate maintenance contracts for all the computer and telephone equipment to ensure the most cost effective and reliable alternatives for the Authority.

· Manage internal and external IT vendor relationships, and interface with programming consultants.

· Ensure that proper staffing is maintained for the computer operations department and perform necessary training for staff members to ensure each team member maintains necessary technical skills.

· Direct the scheduling and assignment of all the operators’ nightly routines and program runs, along with any program requests from other departments.

· Establish training criteria for all the equipment assigned to the computer operations department, either new or existing.

· Establish training requirements for “user” programs (software).

· Direct training sessions on the new or existing equipment and software, coordinating training sessions on new equipment with the Computer Technician.

· Ensure the availability and proper operation of computer equipment for all users within the Authority.

· Work interdepartmentally in developing new automated information management systems, emphasizing maximum utilization of in-house equipment, training and programming capabilities.

Experience with:

· PCI – Payment Card Industry including required self-assessment (credit cards) – experience with payment solution providers.

· IBM AS400 Reservation System

· AMI – Amano McGann Parking Systems

· Microsoft Dynamics NAV

· Microsoft Exchange

· Phone systems in general. Vertical Wave preferred.

· Cyber Security Compliance (PCI and other standards.

· Cloud, Virtualization, Office 365, SharePoint.

Qualifications:

· At least 8 years’ experience of related experience managing computer technology equipment and software functions for an organization.

· Proven experience in effectively leading and managing day-to-day operations and staff.

· Advanced knowledge of telecommunications equipment and trouble-shooting techniques.

· Ability to assess current technology, plan for future technology needs, and lead the design and implementation of agreed-upon solutions.

· Excellent communicator who can lead business process improvements as well as maintain and execute with new and existing systems.

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field is preferred.
