OVERVIEW

The EDI Specialist works directly with internal users and vendor partners to ensure timely and accurate EDI on-boarding and support of EDI file transmissions, while continuously moving forward the department's EDI processes and systems. The specialist will be responsible for developing, testing, and implementing EDI processes and will function as the SME for EDI at Chadwell Supply. The EDI Specialist will maintain and operate the EDI systems, transactions, and reports, troubleshoot and repair transmission issues, and perform other EDI requests, projects, and tasks.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Exceptional computer literacy and analytical skills are required for this position.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, or 5 years related professional experience.
  • Experience in EDI mapping, development, and software tools in an ANSI X12 environment.
  • Knowledge of 810, 850, 856, 860, and other standard EDI transactions.

  • Ability to write SQL queries to retrieve data from databases and other systems.
  • Possess exceptional communication skills to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form, including accurate grammar and business correspondence knowledge.
  • Able to establish and maintain effective business relationships; demonstrated ability to communicate in situations requiring tact and poise; skilled in confidentiality and discretion.
  • Able to multi-task, and focus with composure, in accordance with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Able to define and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables, occasionally in situations where only limited standardization exists. Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, design, develop, test, troubleshoot, optimize, enhance and maintain EDI functionality.
  • Create and maintain interfaces between applications systems and EDI transaction.
  • Lead new vendor integrations, EDI setup, and configuration.
  • Maintain documentation and process flow of all EDI processes.
  • Evaluate user requests for new and modifications to EDI applications/programs/processes/maps
  • Participate in project meetings, providing input to project plans and providing status updates.
  • At the request of end users or management, research questions involving EDI applications and how the data is organized and populated.
  • Perform technical analysis and data mining for EDI reporting requests from internal and external sources.
  • Develop detailed source to target mapping from client data to various EDI specifications as well as data transformation documentation and explain the mapping to team members.
  • Query data, compile data analysis, trends, error analysis, and other information to assist clients to improve their EDI transactions.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of EDI processing and data transfer efforts.
