Hometown Focus, the Iron Range area's community-driven newspaper, seeks an editor for our weekly print, online, and mobile products. You would work with editorial and graphics staff while recruiting contributing writers. This is your opportunity to make new connections while educating, enlightening, and entertaining readers. HTF focuses on human-interest stories, local history, and positive news.

Essential responsibility

• Edit articles, write headlines and captions, select images
• Solicit content from community members
• Create editorial copy as needed
• Review page layouts
• Post content to HTF's website and social media as needed

Skills and abilities

• Strong knowledge of grammar, mechanics, and style
• Time management and organization
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Relationship-building and communication skills
• Familiarity with local communities
• Strong computer and social media skills

A degree (or experience) in journalism a plus. Applicants must be dependable, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
