Job Description

The candidate will serve as an End User IT Support Technician providing Asset Management support work for an ongoing project to complete the IT Inventory across the command. The candidate may need to deploy within the USCENTCOM AOR in support of operations. This is a deployable position; the candidate must have a valid US passport and be willing to travel.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provides IT systems and software maintenance support in a 24x7 work center; shift work may be required
  • Coordinates and manages Automated Data Processing Equipment accountability of new equipment, replacement equipment, and upgrades
  • Processes end of life, defective and/or damaged equipment through DRMO
  • Helps management and testing of desktop load set configurations to include tracking and compilation of user issues
  • As required, assists the VIP support team to include all hardware and software configurations and testing
  • Assists with information on systems/equipment needed to support system life cycle replacement planning and execution including procurement of hardware, software, and necessary supplies
  • Plans and coordinates the removal, movement, and/or installation of computer hardware and software

Job Requirements:

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 10 years relevant experience is desired
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems related to desktop computers, print servers, scanners, printers, PDAs (Blackberry), desktop video/video teleconference systems, and peripherals
  • Ability to troubleshoot Microsoft products including, but not limited to MS Windows and Office; including all aspects of Windows security and Microsoft desktop products
  • On the job experience with hardware and software configuration management is preferred
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills
  • Prior military service and relevant experience may be substituted for education requirement

Certification Requirements

  • Security+
  • DESIRED: A+, Network+, Dell Server 7.0, MCP (Windows XP workstation), MCITP, CCNA, Nortel Network (Fiber Optic and Copper), ClearCube Blade certifications

Clearance Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is required prior to start

Other (Travel, Work Environment, DoD 8570 Requirements, Administrative Notes, etc.)

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2
  • Passport is required and travel to the CENTCOM Forward Headquarters in Qatar may be required
  • Shift work may be required
