Location: Fargo, ND

Duration of Role: Eight Months Plus

Pay: $56.00- $60.00/hour

This position will be responsible for designing fixtures used to test printed circuit board subassemblies in a manufacturing environment. The In-circuit Test Engineer will work with a cross-functional team to understand requirements and deadlines. They will compile all information required to submit a fixture quote, work with the vendor to address concerns, and debug the fixture so that production deadlines can be met.

DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILITIES:

• Executes high level applications to more complex problems.
• Analyzes assignments and determines engineering specifications which must be fulfilled for complex problems or projects of moderate scope.
• Produces and/or evaluates possible design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering applications. This may include possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
• Compiles and furnishes necessary information (engineering decisions and reports of pertinent design analyses data) to document the design solution required for building of prototypes and adoption of the design with possible involvement of other functional engineers, supply management and/or supplier personnel.
• Provides technical support to marketing, manufacturing, quality and supply management organizations.
• Develops and/or executes test or analysis plan for product verification and validation.
• Applies knowledge of company products, policies and practices to provide economies through standardization of parts and products.

REQUIRED:

• Electrical Engineering experience
• Well versed in communication- Written and verbal
• Schematics
• Experience with electronic hardware and systems (i.e. Op Amp, FET’s, Transistors, A/D converters, serial and parallel interfaces, microcontrollers, etc.)
• Technical experience using and understanding schematics and PCB layout data
• Experience with development and debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi-meters, etc.)
• Basic programming language experience (C++, C#, Python, Java, etc.)
• Good written and verbal communications skills (English)

DESIRED:

• Robotics experience
• 2-5 years of experience in an electronic design or test design role that focused on designing and/or testing embedded electronics
• Experience with Teradyne In-Circuit Test systems
• Experience in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Experience in the design of printed circuit boards
• Experience programming 16-bit and 32-bit embedded microcontrollers and other memory devices.
• Experience with communication protocols (i.e. CAN, Ethernet, USB, etc.)
• Experience in the design and/or test of ruggedized, embedded automotive electronics

Education:

• Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
