Description:JOB SUMMARY:
It is the role of the Designer to design process equipment and create facility layouts consistent with GasTech design and process standards and including all client specific design requirements. This position uses solid modeling to create the detailed designs, generates the manufacturing drawings and bills of materials (BOMs), while preparing all ancillary relevant design documentation in support of performing the client contract. The responsibility of the position is providing a design that is complete, accurate, and understandable, while meeting schedule and cost targets. All designs and documentation shall meet or exceed client requirements on each assigned project. It is the goal of the position to support GasTech Engineering as the most respected equipment and solutions provider in the market and for the customers we serve.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this includes, but is not limited to, the following):

• Demonstrate attention to the details to ensure a consistently high level of accuracy in all work products
• Perform all duties as the designated checker for the department, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Design all structural skids, vessel parts and internals with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Interpret/incorporate requirements in the Equipment Proposal/Client Specs
• Create solid models, parts & assemblies of all products and/or gas processing equipment and process plants
• Develop detail drawings of all product models for manufacturing and able to perform tolerance analysis to ensure manufacturability
• Act as a change agent to support the engineering/designing unit to create parts libraries, supplement engineering parts libraries and/or to implement automatic 3D modeling process
• Reliable and punctual attendance and a positive and cooperative attitude

Requirements:

• Excellent technical proficiency with Mechanical Design using Solid modeling software and technical tools, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, is required.
• The ability to work with minimal supervision and to deliver assignments to meet due dates is required.
• Effective problem-solving skills, while remaining creative and innovative, is required.
• The ability to effectively communicate and defend design concepts to both internal and external customers is required.
• The ability to demonstrate effective communication skills to work with our internal functional teams is required, including frequent communication with the project management team and all organizational levels, clients, and third-party vendors.
• An Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering environment is required, as well as a minimum of 5 years energy industry design experience; 3 years of which must be in oil & gas equipment or facilities, is required.
• Minimum 3 years of experiences in routing all piping, skid, vessel and structure assembly parts to the applicable code included ANSI Codes, ASME Code, AWS welding Standard, and OSHA standard is required.
• The following types of experience and knowledge are preferred but not required:

• Minimum 3 years of experiences in industry tolerancing knowledge for the product designs, such as GD&T.
• Minimum 5 years of detailing Piping ISOs, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Minimum 3 years of using Product Data Management and/or Product Lifecycle Management platform such as Vault.
• Demonstrable knowledge of documentation control and/or technical drawing revision change control and obsoletion practices.
• Demonstrable knowledge of fitting, welding, and assembly processes.

• Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred but not required.
• SolidWorks, CADWorx, or Plant 3d experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is preferred but not required.
