Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal Project Engineer to lead the design, development, prototyping, and deployment of sensor systems solutions using engineering best practices in support of next generation radar programs.

Responsibilities will include:

• Lead the technical development and execution of a next generation radar program, working with a team of business development, product development, and engineering
• Coordinate the, proposals, and business plans, in the execution of the program tasks and strategies for existing programs
• Coordinate proposal preparation (programmatic, technical and cost) for future programs
• Drive the identification of new business opportunities and develop new product roadmaps
• Manage programs within schedule and budget, and lead risk and opportunity management
• Collaborate across the functional organizations within Saab in the U.S. and across the global corporation
• Manage internal Saab investments that align to the specific product line development.
• Mentor Engineering Program Management (EPM) and junior engineers

Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Math or Science strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of experience related to Surveillance Systems.
• 20+ years working with Department of Defense (DoD) customers, specifically Army, Marine Core, and Navy customers.
• Proven project leadership with Radar systems.
• Demonstrated responsibility for program execution and product development strategies, leading teams in the aerospace and defense industry.
• Previously demonstrated leadership management skills with cross functional experience.
• Strong business acumen.
• Proven customer relationship management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and influence customer, key stakeholders (internal and external to the organization).
• Able to communicate and make presentations to senior leadership within the company and customer communities.
• Strong analysis skills and abilities.
• Experience with the DoD architectural framework and design guidance for systems engineering processes.
