NIRA (by Dermal Photonics Corporation) is seeking a dynamic, hands-on financial professional to manage the finance function for this rapidly growing supplier of skincare lasers sold direct to consumers. The Company has doubled in sales last year and expects to double again in 2023.

The Controller will report to the CEO and be responsible for all finance functions including payroll, payables, receivables, weekly updates to financial models, monthly financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, HR and financial planning. Quickbooks Online, Bill.com and Excel are used and electronic tie-ins are maintained between various bank and commercial partners.

The job includes managing the financial models that include monthly cash flow, balance sheet and P&L. Financial planning, controls, supporting fundraising, preparing board financial reports and investor updates are key responsibilities. As the Company grows, the Senior Controller will be responsible for hiring and building a finance department capable of managing a dynamic growing stand-alone business.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Manage a largely outsourced bookkeeping function.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivables.
• Update Cash Flow model weekly.
• Process payroll; choose and manage employee benefit plans including health insurance and 401(k)’s.
• Maintain inventory in Quickbooks and reconcile to actuals each month.
• Administrate Liability, Property, and D&O insurance.
• Manage stock option grants and maintain company cap table.
• Manage employee onboarding and general HR tasks.
• As the company grows, hire and manage finance and accounting staff.
• Improve and maintain 5-year financial model
• Work with president and IT staff to improve and automate system as needed
• Set budgets with President and Board. Manage the company finances to budgets.
• Control and optimize spending as much as possible; work with vendors and support the negotiation of pricing and terms where appropriate.
• Support the banking relationships.
• Prepare financial reporting packages to the board and participate in board meetings
• Support fundraising activities with the president including providing materials, supporting Q&A and presenting materials as needed.
• Support company quality systems under the guidance and support of the VP Engineering. This may include document control, documenting and evaluating complaints and RMAs.
• Support production planning and negotiating of contracts with the Production Manager.

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Accounting / Finance. CPA desired but not required.
• 5 - 12 years of experience in progressively advancing accounting roles. Experience as a Regional / Operating Controller or in public accounting in Big 4 or Regional Firms
• Experience as a Controller position in a stand-alone angel or VC backed company a plus
• Strong technical accounting skills in USGAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
• Must be able to work under pressure and achieve hard deadlines, keeping a healthy environment.
• Desire to learn and grow.
• Excellent Communication Skills – written and oral

Pay: $80,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
