Position Description: GIS Operations Manager
Ecompex, Inc. is currently recruiting an Operations Manager to serve as a technical lead for tasks under a major Geographic Information System (GIS) program with the US Census Bureau. The Operations Manager will have full responsibility for planning and implementation including creating and maintaining schedules and analyzing methods used. The Operations Manager will directly support and interact with Census Bureau’s Geography Division technical representatives on the status of tasks such as the review and correction of boundaries; digitization of boundary changes, spatial feature and address updates; maintenance of data sources. These tasks require an excellent understanding of Geospatial project implementation and multilayer geospatial databases. The ideal Operations Manager will have strong task management skills, the ability to manage and mentor multi-level GIS production teams, and be able to provide support to staff using GIS applications.
Remote at start of project, with a transition to hybrid work in Suitland, Maryland at US Census Bureau when the building is ready for occupancy.
About 60 hours per work week.
