Education: Should possess formal training and/or education (Defense Information School or an industry certification) in Public Affairs concepts and techniques to support development of executive level, communication planning and strategy for senior executives in government and leadership positions.
Experience: Experience in graphic arts; demonstrates the ability to accurately research and develop products in support of the tasks outlined below. The contractor shall possess experience in developing near finished quality presentations or products from attendance at meetings or handwritten notes. Proficient in all aspects of conducting Public Affairs, including a broad depth of understanding of news media activities, community outreach principles, public affairs planning, communication strategy development, and website and social media development and execution. Qualifications shall demonstrate experience taking verbal concepts and rough plans to develop into actionable strategies for senior leaders.
Location: On-site, Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
Responsibilities:
- Develop original design, layouts and finished artwork for a wide variety of organizational, technical and general support materials of a complex nature; and
- Produce original artwork utilizing computer graphics software.
The Graphic Arts Specialist will:
- coordinate the design and development of complex, high-level (USSTRATCOM, Department of Defense, and National Security Council level) visual information products in collaboration with editors, subject matter experts, public affairs, and customers;
- Plan, design, print, and mount a wide variety of visual design products from initial planning stage to final production;
- design and display visual materials such as photographs, illustrations, diagrams, graphs, objects, models, slides, and charts used in a variety of publications and communication tools;
- provide input to assist customer in identifying and defining mission requirements, identify target audiences, and define goals/objectives of the requested project when format or visual may not be specified;
- present subject matter information in a visual form that will convey the intended message to, or have the desired effect on, the intended audience; advise on technical advantages and disadvantages and/or make the initial design decisions such as layout, design, format, style, technique, lettering, color calibration, contrast special effects, media, method of reproduction, and software compatibility;
- suggest alternative visual treatments within cost and time restraints;
- research and analyze diverse subject matter material to ensure accurate visual interpretation and,
- create visual materials independently or in conjunction with illustrators, photographers, videographers or other craftsmen.
