The HRIS Specialist is a subject matter expert and project manager for Workday HRIS system. Responsibilities include system configuration, updating and enhancing business processes, maintaining vendor integrations and EDI files, and automation of workflows. The HRIS Specialist leads Workday projects and collaborates with department leadership and human resources. Reports to the Managing Director of Human Resources.
Pay: $85,500 - $107,000
Hybrid of in-office and work from home
Relocation package may be available for this position
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develops and supports Workday system functionality which includes design, configuration, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborates with HR and other stakeholders to understand business needs and opportunities
  • Ability to understand requirements and provide solutions by developing new functionality or process improvements
  • Develops customized reports for HR management and other leadership.
  • Triages incoming report requests, develops custom ad hoc reports as appropriate or recommends use of standard system report
  • Develops executive dashboard metrics to empower leaders to make informed business decisions related to their workforce’s retention and engagement.
  • Creates detailed project tasks and timelines that drive success and monitors the team’s testing and validation efforts
  • Develops and provides end-user support for all core HR systems and continually improves processes to ensure accuracy and integrity of employee data.
  • Supports the additional coaching and support required by upgrades and adoption of new functionality
  • Strategically plans with departments and outside consultants on enhancements and changes that impact Workday modules and automation of workflows.
  • HR point of contact for change management and go live support on Workday projects.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
  • High school/GED diploma required
  • Bachelor’s Degree required in Information Systems, Human Resources, or similar field of study.
  • 5+ years of configuration and hands-on experience in Workday in - Core HCM, Business Process, Organization Setup, Security, Compensation Management, Time & Absence,Time Tracking and Benefits or a similar software
Skills Required:
  • Strong systems thinking skills (Able to identify all dependencies in the system when considering work or direction)
  • The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to understand priorities and business needs
  • Understanding of security domains, business process security policies and security groups
  • Ability to impart knowledge on aspects of HR Systems – Workday
  • Requires an understanding of Human Resources policies and terminology, and business Administrator processes
  • Knowledge or aptitude to provide troubleshooting expertise to users on an ad hoc basis when the scope of the problem exceeds the assigned administrator level of intervention.
  • Requires an understanding of how Workday integrates with other systems
  • Ability to meet project deadlines while accurately providing attention to detail. Uses experience, research, and analysis to translate department requirements into effective solutions. Must be able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Must engage end users and leadership to understand the business requirements when called to troubleshoot complex technical and administrative issues and resolve problems in a complex environment
  • Exemplary ethics and integrity to maintain confidential information.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Normal work schedule: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Hybrid schedule: In-office 2-3 days per week
  • After-hours and weekend on-call as needed (rare but may occur)
  • Majority of time spent in an office environment.
