Position Summary:

The Human Resource Director will collaborate with management to develop and implement strategic business initiatives. Responsibilities will include serving as a trusted advisor to department leaders on employee relations, cultural development, compensation, benefits, performance management, policy development and risk management. In addition, the Human Resource Director will need to be a leader of change, and evaluate, plan, develop, and build the organization’s human capital, functions, and capabilities.
This person will report directly to the VP of Government Affairs and Human Resources and be an integral part of the leadership team and a liaison, culture champion, change agent, and problem-solver. The Human
Resources Director will manage the Human Resources Department including recruitment and talent management, performance management, onboarding, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, shuttle services, wellness initiatives and determining local training needs. The Human
Resources Director will have a dotted leadership line to the Payroll, Transportation and Safety Departments.

Responsibilities:

1. Provides guidance to leadership on change management, organization assessment and how to leverage HR tools and programs to create an effective organization.

2. Oversees HR guidance to employees and managers with regard to career development, recruiting, performance management, compensation, benefits, training, employee relation issues, company policies, etc.

3. Implement and monitor all HR systems and procedures across the organization.
4. Oversees Talent Acquisition and Management efforts, driving recruitment performance and metrics that support business needs.
5. Identifies ways to innovate current procedures and processes to improve efficiencies and the employee experience.
6. Assists in the development/implementation of rewards programs to engage and retain talent.
7. Provides direction and input on organizational structure, workforce planning and succession planning.
8. Serves as a member of the KI Leadership Team leading the business in developing strategic plans while providing an engaging culture to retain and grow talent.
9. Utilizes functional expertise to ensure consistent and fair resolution of complex employee relations, including utilization of specialist resources and legal counsel as necessary.
10. Act as liaison between the company and outside legal and professional resources to ensure that all employment policies follow current laws and regulations.
11. Champion a consistently fair and harassment-free work environment in compliance with all government regulations, including but not limited to: FLSA, FMLA, ADA, COBRA, OSHA, Worker’s
Compensation, and other applicable labor and/or tax laws and regulations.

12. Ensures timely completion of all compliance and reporting requirements.
13. Maintains high level knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding human resources.
14. Provide direction and the development of HR policies/procedures, recruiting processes and placement practices/procedures.
15. Creates and delivers presentations to corporate officers or department heads regarding human resources policies and practices.
16. Partners with the KI Leadership team and implements strategic operational strategies.
17. Coach managers and supervisors on performance management issues and processes.
18. Partner with plant leadership to facilitate plant objectives, goals, strategies, and measures (OGSM), lean manufacturing and other initiatives that drive business success measures.
19. Works confidentially on issues related to departmental budgets, headcount, and staff planning.

20. Manage any issues or coordination needed for the corporate office such as repairs, janitorial, work environment, etc.

21. Coordinate Team Member events such as Annual Safety Meeting, Christmas Party, Longevity Dinner and other corporate events as needed.

22. Assist VP of GA and HR as needed.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development or Human Resources preferred.

2. Minimum of 10-years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

3. Professional credentials (e.g., PHR, SPHR) a plus.
4. Minimum of six (6) years of leadership/supervisory experience.
5. Candidate must have a broad generalist expertise in human resources to include compensation and benefits; employee relations; talent management, training, performance management, recruiting, sourcing and selection.

6. Strong investigative, analytical, and decision-making skills.
7. Food plant experience a plus.
8. Strong communication skills including presentation and facilitation skills.
9. Top notch interpersonal and teaming skills.
10. Experience with HRIS is required and should be proficient in it as well.
11. Experience coaching and developing high performance teams.
12. Ability to manage people and be able to set priorities for self and subordinates.
13. Experience in the development and execution of a training program for supervisors and hourly workforce.
14. Bilingual English/Spanish prefer.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:
The work environment characteristics & physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. The majority of the time is spent in an office setting outside of the production plant. The plant environment will include wet or humid conditions (non-weather related), extreme cold and heat
(non-weather related), working near moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.

2. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be loud when in the production area.

3. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

4. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

5. 45+ hour work week -- Monday thru Friday, with the possibility of some weekends.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
