POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Human Resources Director, this position is the first point of contact for the Human Resources Department.The Human Resources Generalist will oversee the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department. Provides administrative support to all areas of the Human Resources Department possessing the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) and be able to work in a fast-paced and sometimes pressured environment, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. This position must maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality while keeping attention to detail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
· Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes. Effectively and efficiently assist with all related activities for sourcing, recruiting, screening, and interviewing of internal and external candidates. In partnership with hiring managers, sources, selects, interviews, recommends and processes the placement of candidates.
· Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.
· Gather and analyze date with useful HR metrics, like time to hire, employee and applicant demographics, and employee turnover rates. Responsible for statistical reporting and other analysis as required by department director.
· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
· Maintains compliance with federal employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
· Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel. Assists the Human Resources Director with establishing departmental objectives and meeting departmental goals.
· Prepares various HR-related correspondence and reports.
· Provides excellent customer service to employees. Responsible for professional demeanor at all times. Provides excellent customer service to employees and customers.
· Responses to inquiries from staff via phone and/or email.
· Provides assistance on payroll-related projects.
· Provides support to other departmental functions when needed.
· Manages employee files system and ensures accuracy and timeliness of records. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely filing and updating of information into personnel files.
· Responsible for DocStaring all documents promptly and accurately.
· Responsible for professionally answering incoming telephone calls, taking messages, and transferring calls as required.
· Responds to Employment Verifications following Bear River policies and protocols.
· Assists in the coordination and participates in all HR annual events, i.e. employee picnic, employee services awards dinner, etc. Responsible for ensuring all flyers for employee events or contests are created and distributed timely.
· Provides support to other departmental functions when needed.
· Responsible for all employee data entry ensuring accurate and timely employee information is reflected into HR data system.
· Responsible for ensuring timely processing of incoming mail into the mail log and distributing throughout the HR department accordingly.
· Processes all tax liens and other garnishments in a timely and accurate fashion.
· Provides assistance with the organizations health, life, AD&D, disability, worker’s compensation. 401(K), FMLA, COBRA and other ancillary benefits.
· Assists with planning, developing and provides trainings and staff development programs, using knowledge of the effectiveness of methods such as but no limited to classroom training, demonstrations, eLearning, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences and workshops,
· Responsible for creating and distributing employee newsletters in a timely fashion.
· Assists with the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
· Assists with rewriting job descriptions as necessary.
· Assists with new hire/open enrollment benefits and changes of information by obtaining, verifying and recording employee information and informing insurance carriers of new changed information.
· Will maintain confidentiality at all times.
· Other duties may be assigned.
AUTHORITY/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May oversee the scheduling, assignments, and daily workflow of subordinate staff in the department. May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or its equivalent; and
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
· Shall possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by agencies insurance.
· Shall obtain Tribal Human Resources Professional Certification (THRP) within one (1) year of hire.
