Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist position requires a candidate who is knowledgeable in regulatory human resource issues including ADA, ACA, EEO, FLSA and FMLA. This employee will help administer Company personnel policies and benefit programs, including health and welfare benefits and retirement benefits. This position will plan for, recruit, train, develop, and maintain a labor force of both salaried and hourly employees that will effectively and efficiently meet Company objectives and requirements.

This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and will be responsible for handling all plant level functions associated with HR including coordination with payroll. The environment requires a dedicated individual with the ability to manage a diverse work force and a varied status of exempt and nonexempt employees. The HR Generalist must have the ability to travel to other sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage staffing needs for site by recruiting, interviewing, hiring and orientating new or transferred employees
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and all required reporting transactions
  • Conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
  • Develop and coordinate various employee relations, plant activities and employee communications
  • Administer hourly compensation program to ensure compliance and equity
  • Communicate benefit information to participants
  • Oversee and coordinate the FMLA (Family Medical Leave) program
  • Develop and implement training programs in accordance with QS standards
  • Administer policies, make decisions, and respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs to facilitate consistency and equity
  • Participate in environment, safety, health, and security programs to ensure a safe and secure work environment
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in dealing with all levels of employees
  • Participate in community activities and build relationships within the community to continually promote Kauffman as an outstanding employer
  • Facilitate legal and regulatory compliance to all internal and external reporting entities by preparing and maintaining required reports, handling unemployment claims, and conducting required investigations while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Monitor employment, medical, training, and safety records to ensure legal requirements are maintained
  • Provide HR related metrics to the VP, Human Resources
  • Administer Workers' Compensation program: oversee claim activity and coordinate with the claims adjuster on any issues

Key Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Human Resources or related field.
  • 2+ years’ Human Resources experience, manufacturing environment preferred
  • Hands on experience in several human resources areas including: employee relations, staffing, payroll, and HRIS.
  • Demonstrated success handling multiple priorities working in an environment dealing with fluctuating priorities and minimum supervision
  • Must have the flexibility to work extended hours to support plant events and activities on off-shifts as needed
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software
  • Previous ADP experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation claim management principles
  • Ability to speak and understand Tagalog a plus.

Please Note: This is a full-time temporary, non-benefits eligible position. The assigment will run through 4/15/2023.
