Position Description:

R & D Industries, Inc. (RDI) has an immediate opening for a Human Resources (HR) Manager and Accounting Co-Manager. This is an exciting time to join our growing technology company in Milford, IA.

The Human Resources Manager and Accounting Co-Manager is a full-time position within our accounting department. This key role is responsible for all RDI HR tasks as well as assisting with accounting operations. Our HR Manager is responsible for full-cycle recruiting (including sourcing candidates through various channels), employee engagement, policy development, and implementation, conducting new hire orientation, employment onboarding, records management and data integrity, unemployment correspondence, and other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates must be self-motivated, organized, and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office applications. Candidates should have previous HR and/or accounting experience and a BS, AA, or AS degree in accounting or commensurate work experience. Candidates should have previous experience with accounting software such as SAGE 100.

Responsibilities:

• Be energized to help our team be the best that they can be – lead recruiting, selection, and retention strategies.
• Assess staff and management training requirements and coordinate with managers to meet career development needs.
• Draft and direct implementation of HR policies, programs, and procedures.
• Responsible for compliance with federal and state legislation for all personnel matters.
• Recruit technical and non-technical roles via in-person events, career fairs, and online platforms
• Organize and orchestrate the interview process.
• Manage employee benefits & coordinate with the accounting manager.
• Prepare tax reports and accurately file physical and electronic documents.
• Co-manage a bookkeeping assistant to assist in accounting tasks.
• Coordinate tasks and distribute the workload to ensure that tasks are completed on time, and utilize best practices for segregation of duties.
• Work with our CPA to implement, update and manage internal processes related to general accounting, tax, payroll, and other accounting tasks as necessary.
• Co-responsibility for accounting functions; ability to manage all accounting-related tasks whenever the accounting manager is unavailable, for example, while they are on vacation or are otherwise out of the office.

Requirements:

• In-office role in Milford, Iowa
• BS / AA / AS degree in Accounting or commensurate work experience
• Previous experience areas such as:
  • Payroll, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank Reconciliation, Monthly Billings & Statements, Sales & Use Taxes
  • Accounting software such as SAGE 100
  • HR tasks such as employee management, policy creation and maintenance, and payroll-related tax filings
  • HR Management or Leadership experience
• HR Certification is a plus
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws required
• Experience with online talent attraction and employer branding; work with our marketing team on initiatives.
