Position Summary:

AP Professionals has partnered with a growing local company that is seeking an Information Security Specialist. Newly created and open due to growth and expansion, within the company and department! The Information Security Specialist will handle ongoing management of the information security program and ensure it protects and secures it’s clients and members. Assist with training internal staff on appropriate security protocol within the firm and perform testing. 4+ years of prior experience in a information security role is required.

This position is a full-time, direct hire role that offers a hybrid schedule. Candidates must be located in or around Rochester, NY in order to perform onsite work.

Responsibilities:

• Administer the Information Security Program. Assist with ongoing creation and maintenance of policies and procedures.
• Implement, manage, and enforce Security directives that are mandated by related affiliations.
• Act as primary liaison and coordinate with federal and state examiners to prepare requested reports and facilitate exams and/or audits as required.
• Assess vendors' security controls to ensure new and existing vendors adequately protect member information.
• Create management reports from monitoring systems such as phishing, malware, data leakage, Active Directory, Data Classification, application whitelisting and patch management. Develop communication and resolution strategy with the Information Security Officer.
• Perform and document risk assessments of products, services and processes.
• Liaison with managed security services vendors, and other third parties to maintain optimal performance, review findings, and address areas that require attention.
• Provide input to Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery program in order to ensure plan and testing processes are in place.
• Help with facilitating and contributing to Incident Response planning, procedures and testing.
• Work with the Training Department on information security awareness and training initiatives to educate internal employees about risks and appropriate actions to protect information and systems.
• Regularly review hardware and application hardening configurations.
• Analyze new technology hardware, software, services and functional processes and make recommendations to enhance security posture.
• Stay up to date with relevant security information, threats, and best practices through membership in special interest groups or professional forums.

Requirements:

• Bachelors with an Information Security focus desired
• Certifications within security a plus!
• 4+ years’ of experience within an information security role desired
• Solid understanding of information security principles, processes, and resources
• An understanding of information security hardware and software solutions
• Project management and collaboration skills are required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
