Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Fosters communication between Infrastructure and End User Services teams.

Oversees the daily operations of the system performance, maintenance, and repair.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of the IT Operations team, including managing projects, facilitating department meetings, and providing status updates to peers and upper management.

Supervises the interview, hiring, and training process of new IT Operations employees.

Presents recommendations to leadership in a clear and professional manner to assist in informed decision making.

Relies on experience, and judgment to perform the functions of the job.

Exhibits a wide degree of creativity.

Follows security architecture standards, frameworks, and guidelines. Emphasizes infrastructure security best practices and ensures adoption across corporate solutions.

Assists in troubleshooting network and server performance issues.

Responsible for collaborating with other individuals to develop overall infrastructure strategy.

Develops technology roadmap, incorporating cost, effort, and prioritization.
-
Incorporates Infrastructure developed strategies into new technology business initiatives.
-
Understands the relationships between various systems – networking, server, EDI, manufacturing, etc. and considers all stakeholders when reviewing business needs.

Responsible for leading and directing infrastructure related projects and project teams.
-
Ensure business requirements have been translated into written designs in line with AFG and industry standards.

Analyze existing infrastructure designs and strategies to ensure they are adequately meeting the organization’s needs.
-
Evaluate final project outputs for success against project design and build baselines.
-
Ensure technology is deployed as per written designs in line with AFG and industry standards.

Leverage and follows the change management process.
-
Review and ensure Operations team develops and follows project testing and implementation plans and meets project timelines.
-
Ensures systems are adequately tuned, patched, and monitored to meet design specs at optimal levels.
-
Prepare and evaluate system performance and capacity data as required.
-
Ensure monitoring systems are current and are adequate to support enterprise infrastructure.
-
Review and approve documentation as needed for any new or changed project or technology.
-
Participates in capacity and performance management of existing infrastructure.
-
Participates in business continuity and disaster recovery strategy development.
-
Follows and enforces standards for monitoring all in scope systems, applications, security, and network configurations.

Recommends upgrades, patches, and monitoring of infrastructure systems.
-
Enforces the usage of IT Change Management practices.
-
Ensures that ITIL and other best practices are implemented and followed.
-
Ensure best practices such as backup, anti-virus and other industry standards are being followed.
-
Ensures service request tickets are processed in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science or in equivalent area of specialty.

15+ years’ experience in the field or related area.
-
10+ years’ experience as an Infrastructure Operations Engineer.
-
Experience with vendor management.
-
Prior audit experience. Examples: SOX, SOC1, ISO, PCI, HIPPA.
-
Prior experience in DR / Business Continuity planning and exercises.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Certification(s) in area of specialty.

7+ years’ experience as a team lead or project management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field. Performs varied tasks.

Strong technical aptitude, creativity, and ability to research and solve complex issues.

Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
-
Ability to work both alone and within a team and established standards.

Experience documenting, project tracking and management reporting.

Experience or exposure to appropriate systems such as:

Windows Server operating systems and Active Directory domains.

Microsoft Azure.
-
Virtualization Platforms: VMware 6.5+, Hyper-V, XenServer.

Server and Storage hardware solutions: SANs, servers, backup appliances.
-
Routers, switches, WLCs, Firewalls, Network Load Balancers.
-
Hosted and Cloud Solutions: Co-Lo, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
-
A variety of application solutions (web, database, etc.).
-
Security solutions: Multi-factor Auth, PAM, SEIM, Pen Testing, Vulnerability Scanning.
-
Infrastructure monitoring tools.
-
Proficiency in ITIL 2.0 framework.
